5 reasons to book a static caravan holiday now!

5 reasons to book a static caravan holiday now

There has never been a better time to book a caravan holiday than right now, they are on the rise as THE holiday to go on. Here are 5 cracking reasons to book a caravan holiday ASAP!

1.       They are relatively cheap

There are usually deals for static caravan holidays be it from The Sun newspaper, or from the site itself. It is not impossible to get a few days away for under £100. Some will be getting ready for the end of season now so have a look at October breaks at holiday parks, there will be some great deals to take advantage of.

2.       You don’t have to travel too far

If you do fancy it there are caravan sites all over Europe, but you don’t need to go all of that way when the fun is practically on your doorstep. There are hundreds of sites across the country and there may even be one up the road from where you live where you can have all of the fun of being on holiday without all of the travel. You can leave it all behind but still have your home comforts with you. A holiday without all of the stress, plus if you have a dog they can join in the fun too at most places, so no one needs to be left behind.

3.       They are always an adventure

For kids and adults there is a world of fun waiting for you always things to do and get involved in. If you are near a beach you can do a bit of beach combing or even some beach cleaning (look up #2minutebeachclean to do your bit). You could spot different animals around the site or even make up your own mini scavenger hunt. The possibilities are endless, all you need is a bit of imagination, so go wild!

4.       You can make lifelong friends

Everyone is so friendly from the moment you walk on a caravan site, have a chat with the people you come across, it is a good way to find out what is going on and what there is to do in the area. Everyone is there for the same reasons you are; to relax, enjoy and explore. So make an effort to talk to the parents of your kids new friends they meet, you never know you could find some friends for life.

5.       Dinner on the cheap

If you don’t fancy spending a small fortune on food by eating out every night, then get the family to all pitch in and get cooking in your caravan. Most will have all of the equipment you need to cook up a meal for everyone at a fraction of the cost. Winner winner, delicious dinner! Happy holidays for everyone!

Caravan DIY do's and don'ts

Do you have ANY clue what you are doing?

No, probably not but that is the fun thing about DIY, once you start, you just have to get on with it and make the best out of the situation. Good or bad...but let's be optimistic, of course it will be all good!

Do have ideas

Take inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest, but think small at first. Perhaps negotiate your way around putting up a net curtain or a basic blind before you go all out and buy a sewing machine and attempt to make yourself some curtains. Be proud of the small achievements you make. The bigger ones will come in time.

(My first achievement, my very nearly straight blind.)

Do get excited

This is your space, slap some different coloured paint patches on the walls to find the one you love, buy that roll of wallpaper that is on sale and the only one left that will not match a thing but you just love, because there will be some use for it.

Do dare to be different

Silver is very in at the moment, so why don't you go for gold? Just because something is popular it doesn't mean you have to do it exactly the same, put your own spin on it.

Do visit charity shops

There is an abundance of charity shops around and there are even charity warehouses where you can pick up everything you need to upcycle your caravan. Plus, there is the added touch of everything having a previous owner and it's own little back story.

Don't be afraid

Tearing out that old sofa that is attached to the kitchen wall (Why do they do that?), or getting rid of the boring beige wallpaper is a bit daunting at first and you might think should I bother? Well, yes you should! You will feel so proud of yourself when you first put up a roller blind all by yourself or paint the bathroom a shocking shade of blue to brighten it up and hear your friends comment 'Wow that looks amazing!' (or something along those lines). So what are you waiting for? Get on with it and do it yourself!

(Bathroom in progress.)
